Jimmie Dale Richmond

Jimmie Dale Richmond, 52, of New Castle, Virginia, formerly of Buchanan, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, April 11th, 2020, surrounded by his wife and children. Jimmie was known by many names in his lifetime, "Dale", "Hardy", "Rabbit", "Deer", "Dad", "Pappy" and most of all "Big Jim". He loved to hunt, fish, mow and many other activities in the outdoors. He loved his wife and enjoyed all their times together. He loved his kids and cherished all the moments they got to have with each other. He loved to be surrounded by all of his family and friends and enjoyed making great memories with all of them. He worked at Rugby for over 30 years and loved his work family. Jimmie is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sam. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Kathryn and Heidi, Kirby, Billy and Courtney. His grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Mikaila, Rachel, Kailee and Leon. His parents Thelma Tingler and Leon H. Richmond. His brothers and their spouses, JR, David and Alisa, Dannie and Amy. Special nephew and niece and their spouses, Amber and Hunter, Daniel and Kathryn. Favorite mother and father in law, Kathy and Jim Wingfield. Jimmie was preceded in death by his brother Jackie Lee Richmond. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending donations to Carilion Hospice, American Cancer Society, and/or St. Jude Children's Hospital. A Celebration of Life for Jimmie will be held at a later date in the Botetourt Event Center, 14860 Lee Highway, Buchanan, VA.
