Jean Vanness Bare

Jean VanNess Bare, 87, Troutville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday October 13, 2016. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Fred Bare, son, Dale Bare (Deborah), daughters, Karen Harth (Mike) and Sandra Chapman (Bobby); grandchildren, Josh Bare, Travis Harth, Carmen Stein (Larry), Lindsay Niven (Dave), Hillary Morris (Willie), Vannessa Chapman, and Grant Chapman; great-grandchildren, Liam and Grady Morris, and Makiya Harth. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her steadfast love for her husband manifested into 62 beautiful years of marriage. Anyone who knew Jean knew her strong faith in the Lord and her deep love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She proudly served as Commissioner of the Revenue and was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan 540-254-3000. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 3pm with visitation at 2pm at Mill Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
