Jean Gibson Swartz

Jean Gibson Swartz, 87, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014. Born In Buchanan, Dr. Swartz received her diplomas from Craigsville High School, a BS from Madison University, a Masters from Virginia Tech, and a Doctorate from the University of Colorado. She taught and did research at George Washington University, Mount Sinai, and M.I.T. She was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother, and close friend, Jane Mitchell. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in Fairview Cemetery, Buchanan
