James Otho Sloan,

SLOAN James James Otho "Junie" Sloan, Jr., 62, of Eagle Rock passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Junie served his country with the US Marine Corps with honors bestowed. He lived a military life. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Otho Sr. and Dorothy Louise Sink Sloan, and brother, Andrew Sloan. Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Andrea Huffman Sloan; sons and daughter-in-law, James O. Sloan III of Eagle Rock, Chad L. and Jennifer Graham of Glen Wilton; daughter, Ashley Winnings of Rainelle, WVa; sisters, Mary Lou Kerns of Troy and Nancy Culler of Kernersville, NC; brother and sister-in-law, David and Glenda Sloan of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Whitney, Aaron, Caitlyn, and Harley; special friends, Ralph and Gary Patterson, Bob Naser. The family would like to give a special thank you to Missy and Roger Johns, Eagle Rock Rescue Squad, Botetourt EMS, and Andrea's Southern Care Hospice family. Junie's memorial service will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, September 13, 2014 in the Eagle Rock Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14777 Church Street, Eagle Rock, (540-884-2276) with Rev. Billy Ronk officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1030 am until the time of the service.
