James Meade Willis

James Meade Willis, 79, of Buchanan, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013. Jim was a member of the Buchanan Presbyterian Church and retired with over 30 years of service with CSX Railroad. He was an avid reader with a deep interest in Civil War History and a member of the American Legion Post 93. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Helen Willis; and sister, Mary Gordon Hoskins. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rossie Jane Willis; sons, David Willis of Buchanan; Gordon Willis of Lynch Station; daughter, Geralyn Holley of Fincastle; grandchildren, Jessica and Scott Dowell, Justin and Sheena Willis, James Holley, Ross Holley, and Grace Holley; and 5 great-granddaughters, Katelyn, Abigail, Sarah, Prudence, and Olivia. Funeral Services will be held at 1pm Friday, December 27, 2013 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Marina Gopadze officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service.
