James "Don" Donald Hall

James "Don" Donald Hall, 79, of Fincastle, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and friend. He touched so many people with his kindness, compassion and generous spirit. He enjoyed his home looking over the mountains, farming his land and working on his cars. He particularly enjoyed his home at Holden Beach where he cherished spending time with many close friends and breakfast with his buddies. Don proudly served his country in the Army during 1961 to 1964 and retired from Appalachian Power Company after 26 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Davidson and Esther Williamson Hall. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bettie Stanley Hall; daughters, Tammy Hall Wawrzyniak; Sherrie Hall Becker and son-in-law, Patrick Becker; grandchildren, Sara and Ashley Wawrzyniak; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Michael Llewellyn and Hunter Wawrzyniak; brother-in-law, Billy Stanley; special cousins, Bobby Hall, Barry Williamson, and Sue Sweet. Don was deeply loved & adored by his loving wife Bettie and children Tammy & Sherrie, his cherished son-in-law Patrick (Don considered him a son) and his extended family. He will be missed dearly.
