Hubert Monroe Blake

Hubert Monroe Blake, 84, of Buchanan, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010. He was born July 10, 1926 and preceeded in death by his loving wife Bertha; parents, Charles and Myrene Blake; brothers, Nathan, Adolph, Walter and sister, Viola Burks. Hubert attended Academy Hill School in Fincastle, Va. and joined the US Army, where he served in World War II. Upon returning to Buchanan, VA he worked and retired from Groendyk Manufacturing Plant. He leaves to cherish his memory, three sisters, Rosetta Blake of Linden, NJ; Nettie Parr of Toledo, OH; Nina Curry (Ernest) of Dayton, OH; a host of other relatives, nieces, and nephews and a special nephew, Jay Blake (Tammi). Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service. (540-254-3000).
