Henry Robert Fischer

Henry Robert Fischer, 70, of Fincastle, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015. He retired from the US Air Force in 1979 as a Staff Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his friends, Moose Kessler and Pete Hiner. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Shirley Spencer Fischer; sister, Barbara Walker of Kansas City, Mo; step-children, Mark Whiteside, Frances Lee Whiteside, and John Franklin Whiteside, Jr.; grandson, Jason Whiteside; great-grandchildren, Kara and Lewis Whiteside; special friend and caregiver, Rhonda Scott-Cooper; friends, Buddy Campbell, Edward Vasser, and Kenny and Ann Leffell. Funeral Services will be held 4:00 pm, Sunday, January 3, 2016 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. I. Cameron Carte officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
