Helen Margaret Mcginnis Abelsma

Helen Margaret McGinnis Abelsma, 80, of Clifton Forge formerly of Buchanan, went to be with her Lord Jesus Wednesday, August 13, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelis "Kees" Benedictus Abelsma and parents, John and Elizabeth Lovett McGinnis. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Jeff Baker; Honey and Greg Hepler all of Covington; Beatrix and Jon Miller of Durham, NC; Maria J. Hatcher of Buena Vista; Cornelis "Kees" Abelsma, Jr. of Quantico; grandchildren, Caleb Baker, Derek and Ryan Hepler, Lloyd and Ansje Miller, Alicia Lesley, Monica Phaup, and Daphne Roberts; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Eubanks of Cape May, NJ and Carol (Jimmy) McNally of Niles, OH; brothers, Charles (Mary) McGinnis of Warrenton and Joseph (Sue) McGinnis of Bristol, PA; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Joseph Raja and her caregiver, Val for their loving care. Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, August 16, 2014 in Valley View Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Boone officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Friday, August 15, 2014 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan
