Hazel Zimmerman Deisher

Hazel Virginia Zimmerman Deisher, 92, of Eagle Rock passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Lewis Gale Hospital. Previously she had been a resident of Bethel Ridge Assisted Living in Fincastle. She was born August 4, 1921 to the late Daniel Cleveland and Ocie Etta Stinnett Zimmerman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie S. Deisher, an infant son, an infant daughter; and her sisters, Mildred Zimmerman of Fincastle and Annie Keller of Maryland. Mrs. Deisher worked for the Farm Service Agency for a number of years, but enjoyed being a farm wife most of all. She loved her family, friends, church family, and animals, especially dogs. She was a member of King Memorial Community Church in Oriskany. She is survived by her niece, Kathy Stranahan and fiancé, Ty of Easton, MD; nephews, Howard and Jane Keller of Oxford, MD, and Roger and Patricia Keller of Cordova, MD; other relatives include Mary Helen and Jerry Marsh of Eagle Rock, Frankie and Paul Courtemanche, Janice and Stan King, Bryan and Lynn Stephenson all of Roanoke; and Wayne and Marcia Deisher of Montpelier. Also surviving are Aaron, Nathan, and Brandon King; and Samantha, Hannah, and Virginia Grace Stephenson. Funeral services will be held 11am Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in the Eagle Rock Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Longdale Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am before the service.
