Harry Leonard Welch

Harry Leonard Welch, 78, of Buchanan, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 13, 2011. Leonard was an avid guitarist and fiddler and the last band member of the Country Hicks. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ruth C. Welch; daughters and sons-in-law, Lou Ann and Danny Reynolds of Vinton, Peggy and David Perdue of Rocky Mount; son, Andy Welch of Springwood; grandchildren, Brandi and Brandon Welch, Tara McSwain, and Adam Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Madison, Jeslynn, and Presley; sister, Nadine Aaron of Buchanan. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2011 in the Springwood Baptist Church with the Rev. David Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening (June 15) from 6 to 8 pm at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home.
