Harriet Frances Hodges Meredith

Harriet Frances Hodges Meredith, 94, of Buchanan, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Mrs. Meredith was preceded in death by her husband, James Wendell Meredith; parents, James Edward and Mahalia Francis Preas Hodges; son, Danny Meredith. She and her husband ran a grocery and general merchandise store in Buchanan and she was a member of the Buchanan Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Debbie Meredith of Buena Vista, and Donna Meredith of New Hampshire; grandson and spouse, David and Jennifer Meredith of Fairfax; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Louise Alexander. Frances' funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, August 17, 2013 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, Va. with Rev. Mike Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery~ Buchanan. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
