THOMPSON Harold Lee Harold Lee Thompson, 79, of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011. Mr. Thompson was a US Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict, was a mechanic by trade and had worked for Craft Implement Company in Buchanan, and a member of High Bridge Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Calvin, Sr. and Eliza Cash Thompson; brother, John Calvin Thompson, Jr.; and sister, Marian T. Fox. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma Smith Thompson, daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Chipper Harper, Angela Thompson and Mike Martin, all of Buchanan; grandchildren, Daniel Sanderson, Dustin Harper, and Aimee Harper; great-grandchildren, Anna and Aden Sanderson; and sister, Betty Moody of Roanoke; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James E. and Doris Dalton of Big Island; numerous nieces and nephews; special people, Audrey Parkhurst, Kristen Palmer, and Justin Whiting; special friends, Bud Siler, Larry Thompson, Michael "Bud" Reid, Donnie Reeves, Joe Perkins, Jimmy and Judith Perkins. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 5 to 7 pm at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 7 pm officiated by Rev. Marina Gopadze. Burial will be private. Those wishing to make a contribution, please consider the Glasgow Rescue Squad and the Natural Bridge First Responders.
