Glen Lewis Ayers,

AYERS Glen Lewis, Sr. Glen Lewis Ayers, Sr., 81, of Buchanan, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Glen was a loader operator for Salem Stone Quarry and had retired from James River Limestone Quarry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Claude Ayers; wife, Clara Broughman Ayers; son, Timothy Steve Ayers and Donald Lee Ayers; and brother, Robert Lee Ayers. Survivors include his children, Joyce Ann Sanders, Glen Lewis Ayers, Jr., Cindy (Alfred) Crawford, Terri Faye Ayers, Jamie Lynne Rowsey, and Rose Marie Ayers; grandchildren, Linda Faye Smith, Melissa Faye Alexander, Shannon Renee Ayers, Hank William Sanders, and Steven Keith Rowsey; great-grandchildren, Amber Lee, Alyssa Bradley, and Danielle Smith; sister-in-law, Katherine Ayers; half-brother, Kenneth Clark; nieces and nephews, Debbie Ayers, Nancy Ayers, Robert Ayers, Jr., and Jerry Ayers; special friends, Phillip and Eleanor Clemmer, Arlene and Andy Hickman, William Riley Conner, and Larry O'Conner. The Family would like to thank Shannon Ayers and Jamie Rowsey for their care of Pops. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Mr. Andy Hickman officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery~Buchanan. The family will receive friends Monday, September 15, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan (540-254-3000).
