Everett Ranson Montgomery, Jr.

Everett (Dickie) Montgomery, Jr, of Buena Vista, VA entered the gates of Heaven on Monday, May 30, 2022. He was the son of Ruth Short Montgomery and Everett R. Montgomery, Sr. of Buchanan, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Wayne (Punk) Broughman. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Huffman Montgomery of 56 years, his daughter Stephanie (Jamey) Jenkins, his grandsons Zack, Luke, Levi, Zion, Sam all of Ft. Worth, Texas, brother John (Carolyn) Montgomery, Salem, sisters, Sylvia (Willard) Flora, Phyllis (Warren) Wertz, of Roanoke, Kay Broughman, Vickie (Tommy) Wheeler of Buchanan, Nephew Bobby Moore of Buena Vista. He retired from Burlington Industries as a Technician after 39 years of service. He loved making people laugh and had an infectious unforgettable laugh .He enjoyed going to car shows and owned several street rods over the years, enjoyed hunting and football, but most of all he loved his family. A mention of his grandsons brought a big smile to his face. A special thanks to the South Team Hospice staff of Rockbridge for their gentle care and compassion.
