Ellen Louise Carte

Ellen Louise Carte, 73, of Glasgow, passed away peacefully and was received into

the arms of her Heavenly Father, with her loving husband and son by her side on

Sunday, October 9, 2022. Ellen was born on September 9, 1949 in Fayette County,

West Virginia, the daughter of Robert and Nancy Jones. She was preceded in

death by her parents and brother, Gary Jones.

Ellen is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald Carte; her son, Cory Carte and

wife, Marcie of Glasgow; brother, Jerry Jones of Glasgow; sisters, Faye Cantrell

(Mark) of Michigan, Wanda Sydnor (Grundy) of West Virginia, and Karen Davis

(Jim) of West Virginia; granddaughters Cassie and Maddie Carte, and special

nieces Christina Ramsey, Candra Moses and Carmen Budd.

Ellen was a skilled seamstress for most of her life. She adored her granddaughters and spent many hours spoiling them. Ellen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Family visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm, followed by

a memorial service beginning at 3:00 at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee

Highway, Buchanan, VA. The family also welcomes friends to visit at their homes
