Ella Faye Shelton

Ella Faye Shelton, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in Eagle Rock, VA, at the age of 70 after a short battle with cancer. Faye was born May 24, 1945 in Richlands, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grat Shelton; parents, Winona and Joe Henry Vandyke; sisters, Edith Witty and Elsie Hicks. She retired from Double Envelope in Roanoke, VA. Faye loved life and everyone that came into her life was considered family. She had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with her presence. Faye's main joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds, and baking. Faye is survived by her daughters, Winona Shelton and Sherry Shelton; son, Rick Schreyer; brothers, Robert Vandyke and Dennis King; grandchildren, Ashley and Brian Dunbar, Tyler Nicely, and Amber Null; great-grandchildren, Brian Lee "Doodles", Logan Scott, Cammie Faye, Sophie Jade, Grat Lee, and Colton Tyler; brother-in-law, Damon Shelton and wife, Margaret; sisters-in-law, Brenda Shelton; Dena Priddy and husband, Glenn; brother-in-law, Jim Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services will be held 2pm, Monday, November 23, 2015 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert McRae officiating. Interment will follow in Galatia Cemetery in Eagle Rock. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service.
