Dwayne (Wayne) Richard Sloan

Dwayne Richard Sloan (Wayne) was born July 17, 1947 in Springwood, VA, and left us on December 19, 2020 to gain his angel wings to join the ones before him. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Sharon Lynn Sloan; parents, Howard and Lillian Boggess Sloan; sister, Sadie Reid; brothers, Arnold, Herbert Irvin, and Calvin (Carol) Sloan; in-laws, Estill and Edith Long, Larry Long, and Lottie Crawford. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Shelia Long Sloan; son, Kenny (Tracey) Sloan; precious grandchildren whom he was so proud of, Shelly Sloan, Christopher (Ashley) Sloan, Tiffany Sloan (Colton Dame); great-grandchildren, Timber Wayne Sloan, soon to be, Remington Dwayne Sloan and Dominick and Jalissa Moreno; brother, Ralph (Agnes) Sloan; sister, Mildred Sloan; sister-in-law, Barbara Sloan and Sylvia Helmick; brothers-in-law, Ray Crawford, Robert (Peggy) Long; numerous nieces and nephews; special nephew Kevin (Sherry) Helmick; special niece, Cheryl (Donnie) Campbell; and too many friends and bear hunting buddies to mention each by name, but he loved all of us. He loved bear hunting, racing, and spending time with his family, always with a big smile on his face. Services will be at a later date when family and friends can join us.
