Dorothy Morris Ponton

Dorothy Morris Ponton, 86, of Buchanan, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hampton F. Ponton, Sr. ,parents, Howard and Lula Morris, and nephew, Ricky Morris. She was a life time member of the Virginia Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight "Butch" and Stephanie Ponton of Buchanan; Floyd "Junior" and Teri Ponton of Roanoke; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Tom Zimmerman, Debi and Jim Conner all of Buchanan; grandchildren, Heather and Drake Breeden, Ashley and DeWayne Mundy, Jessica Zimmerman, Morgan Ponton and fiance' Justin, Karen Conner, and Kevin Conner; seven great-grandchildren, sister, Margaret Dale of Lexington; brother, Jimmy Morris of Buchanan; nephews, Sammy Dale and James "Dick" Morris. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, January 30, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan. 254-3000
