Dorothy Cook Robertson

Our Savior, Jesus called His faithful servant, Dorothy Anne Cook Owen Robertson ("aka Sweet Tea Dorothy") home on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Dorothy was born on July 28, 1936 or 1937 (depending when you asked her.) She was one of twelve children; the daughter of the late Clint and Frances Howell Cook. She was predeceased by seven of her siblings and her husbands, T. J. Owen and Virgil Robertson. Also predeceasing her were her daughter, Loretta Sue O'Quinn and grandson, Timothy Mark O'Quinn. She is survived by her two granddaughters, Tracy Leigh Gates and Tonya Rénee O'Quinn and her five great grandchildren, Morgan, Ethan, Faira, Tristan and Ava. Also surviving her are four brothers, Braxton, Jerry, Leslie and Eugene. Dorothy was a life- long member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. She was an active member and always carried her daughter, grand-children and great grand-children to the many activities of the church. In her later years she traveled with the many mission teams to Philadelphia, South Dakota, Dominican Republic and Alaska. At Mill Creek and wherever the mission teams went she was known for her sweet tea, coleslaw and fried apple pies! Dorothy was dedicated to her family and in particular to her three grandchildren. There was nothing she would not do for them. MoMo will be missed terribly by Tracy and Tonya, but rejoices in Heaven with other family. Funeral services will be conducted at Mill Creek Baptist Church at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 9, 2015 by Associate Pastor, J. R. Graybill. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from noon to 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church. In honor of Dorothy's life and her passion for missions, memorials may be made to Mill Creek Baptist Church for missions; 11475 Lee Highway, Fincastle, VA 24090.
