Doris Marie Trail Jones

Doris Marie “Sissy” Trail Jones, 77, of Durham, NC passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Friendship Salem Terrace in the Dogwood Memory Care Unit in Salem, VA.

She was born and raised in Botetourt County where she graduated from James River High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Jones; parents, Woodson and Viola Trail; sisters, Mary Hollingsworth and Janie Teaford; brother, Rodney Trail; and brothers-in-law, Chester Hollingsworth and David Amos.

Those left to cherish her memories are brother, Henry Trail and wife, Barbara; sister, Shirley Amos; sister-in-law, Linda Trail; brother-in-law, Mike Teaford; daughter-in-law, Beth McDowell; numerous nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren, Brandon, Amber, Andrew; and three great-grandchildren.

In North Carolina she met her husband, “Hootie” and they had their home there until his death.
