Donna Jean Evans Simmons

Donna Jean Evans Simmons, 59, of Fincastle, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 21, 2012. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Evans and father-in-law, Billy W. Simmons. Survivors include her husband of 14 years, Howard E. "Gene" Simmons; mother, Ruby Q. Quesenberry of Radford; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Bruce Wersted of CA; aunts and uncles, Barbara and Sterling Quesenberry and Orpha and Guy Sadler; mother-in-law, Myrtle G. Simmons; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Billy and Bonnie Simmons, Phillip and Teresa Simmons, and Lynn and Beth Simmons; nieces and nephews, Josh and Jennifer Simmons and their children, Jordyn and Jacob, Chad and Ann Simmons, Taylor, Olivia, Dalton, and Ainsley Simmons; special cousin, Judy Thornton; numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; special pets, Jody, Cocoa, Hannah, and Sassy. Special thanks to Gentle Shepherd Hospice and the Blue Ridge Cancer Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 25, 2012 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Daniels and Mr. Richard Garman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the LAP, the SPCA, or the American Cancer Society.
