Donald "Moose Man" Lee Ayers, 55, of Bedford, formerly of Buchanan, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Broughman Ayers; brother, Timothy Steven Ayers; uncles, Robert Lee Ayers and James Edward Broughman; step-son, William Crowder. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Violet Ayers; father, Glen Lewis Ayers, Sr.; step-daughters, Sherlene Parker, Judith Booth, Susan Joslyn; step-sons, Michael and Timothy Crowder; sisters, Joyce Ann Sanders, Cynthia Gail Crawford, Terri Faye Ayers, Jamie Lynne Rowsey, and Rose Marie Ayers; brother, Glen Lewis Ayers, Jr.; nieces, Linda Faye Smith, Melissa Faye Alexander, and Shannon Renee' Ayers; nephews, Hank Williams Sanders and Steven Keith Rowsey; great-nieces, Amber Nicole Lee, Danielle Renee' Smith; and Alyssa Dawn Bradley. Funeral Services will be held 1pm Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
