Donald H. "Donnie" Painter, 74, died Friday, October 5, 2018 at his home in Buchanan, VA. Mr. Painter was born March 16, 1944 to the late Connie H. Painter and Evelyn Welch Booze and step-father, Merlyn Booze. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Freddy Deavers. Donnie retired from Burlington Industries with 40 years of service, was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He is survived by his wife of almost 13 years, Virginia Ann Painter of Buchanan; sons, Brian Painter and wife, Jennifer of Buchanan; Steve Painter and wife, Kendall of Lexington; daughter, Jennifer Painter Fowler and husband, Adam of Roanoke; two step-daughters, Lucretia VanBrocklin and husband, Jerry of Lexington; Lorie Hill and husband, Ernie of Bristol, VA; three grandsons, Brandon and wife, Briana, Jacob, and Cameron; five step-grandchildren, Kristina, Jason, Madison, Chaney, and Brayden; very special great-grandson, Bentley; special pet companions, Peanut and Boots; and special friends, Dale Edwards and Andy Welch. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 70 Greenfield St., Daleville (corner of 220N and Greenfield St.) on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2pm with the Elder Martin Raneri officiating.
