Donald Edd Carte

Donald Edd Carte, 81, of Glasgow, was received into the arms of his Heavenly

Father, with his son by his side on Friday, December 29, 2023. Donald was born on

November 12, 1942, in Fayette County, West Virginia, the son of Dova and Mary

Carte. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother Ronald; and beloved

wife of 54 years, Ellen.

Donald is survived by his son, Cory Carte and wife, Marcie of Glasgow; brother, Ira

Carte (Patricia) of Mount Jackson; sister, Rosie Blankenship (Maurice) of Bedford;

granddaughters Cassie and Maddie Carte; special nieces Christina Ramsey, Candra

Moses and Carmen Budd, and pups Mack and Buddy.

Donald was a man of many trades. From lumber cutting to dairy farming, he was a

hard-worker wherever he went. He adored his granddaughters and spent many

hours spoiling them. Donald loved the outdoors, especially ginseng hunting. He

never met a stranger and would proudly speak of his family to anyone he met.

Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His

outgoing personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 4:00 pm, followed by a

memorial service beginning at 5:00 with Pastor Terry Bostic officiating at

Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, VA. The family also

welcomes friends to visit at their homes and share memories of Donald.
