Don Peery

Don Peery, "Papaw", 88, of Buchanan, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a kind, caring, and giving man who never met a stranger. He loved his church, church family, and the great outdoors. He was also a WWII Veteran with the US Army. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Whitmer Peery Cramer and father, Burman L. Peery, wife, Lillian Lee Linkenhoker Peery, and brother, William L. Peery. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis W. and Charla Peery of Dana, Indiana; Donald R, "Butch" and Jean Peery, Gary E. and Karen Peery, daughter and son-in-law, Donna Lynn and Tommy Ayers all of Buchanan; grandson Thomas Ayers, grandsons and wives, Eric and Rachel Peery, Kevin and Brooke Peery, Daniel and Denise Peery, Jason and Melissa Peery, granddaughters and husbands, Laurie and Scott Sample, Kimberly and Stacy Jones; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Woolard of Richmond; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Funeral Services will be held 11am Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Springwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Clingenpeel and the Rev. Harold E. Cook, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Those wishing to make a contribution, please consider the Springwood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm, Friday, August 26, 2011 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan, Va.
