Dennis Wayne Rogers

Dennis Wayne "Pops" Rogers, Jr., 54, of Eagle Rock, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 1, 2019. Pops was born in Covington, Virginia but was raised in Cornstalk, West Virginia by his great grandmother, Esther Deitz. He loved NASCAR especially #43 Richard Petty, hunting, University of West Virginia sports, the Dallas Cowboys, John Wayne and Johnny Cash. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Wayne Rogers, Sr. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Dawn Williford Rogers; mother, Joyce Ann Baldwin Rogers; son, Richard Wayne "Ricky" Rogers; daughters, Tasha Dawn Scheffey and Tom Griffin, Elizabeth Ann Rogers, Mary Esther Rogers and Joey Kearns, Jr.; granddaughter, Serenity Grace Kearns; as well as grandson furbabies, Toby and Jackson. Several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many family like friends. Wayne thought of and treated everyone he knew as family. There will a Celebration of Life for Pops beginning at 1:30 pm in the Eagle Rock Community Center, 14604 Church Street, Eagle Rock, Virginia.
