David William Bruce

David W. Bruce, 54, slipped the surly bonds of Earth on June 8, 2022, and touched the face of God. David was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Ann Bruce and is survived by his beautiful wife, Kimberly; cherished daughter, Hope, whom he was exceptionally proud of; two talented stepchildren, Jarod and Kaitlin Manness; his father, Samuel (Bill) Bruce; brother, Douglas (Dee Dee); sister, Carlyn (Ricky) Ruble; nephew, Daniel Bruce; and the newest member of their family, Ruby their Labrador pup. David had a passion for airplanes, motorcycles, and anything mechanical. After years in business management, he decided to follow his dreams and pursue a career in aviation. Already a skilled pilot, David was attending Blue Ridge Community College’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program and was one semester shy of completing his A&P certification. David’s Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 18, 2022 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, Virginia with Pastor David Kirkland officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
