Clyde Bittle Firebaugh

Clyde Bittle Firebaugh, 81, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gay LaFern Wingfield Firebaugh; daughter, Patsy; granddaughter, Brandy; two brothers; and 5 half-brothers. He was a father figure to a lot of people who called him dad. He retired after 30 years of service as a truck driver and was an Army Veteran in the Korean War. Clyde was also a member of the VFW Post#1841 and the American Legion. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Katrina Gay Firebaugh of Roanoke; Donna Kay and Donny Scruggs of Hollins; Teresa Ann and Judd Debusk, Jr. of Roanoke; Tracy Lee Firebaugh Rocky Mount; Susie Sawtelle of New Castle; son, James Robert Firebaugh and fiancé, Bonnie Allen of Wirtz; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services will be held 11am, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
