Clyde Anderson Smith

Clyde Anderson Smith, 80, of Buchanan, passed away Friday, November 26, 2010. Mr. Smith was a US Army veteran serving durig the Korean Conflict. He had retired as a machinist with James River Limestone in Buchanan. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Anderson and Annie Jeannett McDaniel Smith, and his wives, Phyllis Beard Smith and Frances Tuttle Smith. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and James Whitlock of Stuarts Draft, Karen and Frank Faircloth of Cyrus, NC, Sharon and Larry McGee of Waynesboro; sisters, Gladys Campbell of Lexington, Mae Sweet and Effie Ruley of Buena Vista; brother, Julian Smith of Rockbridge Baths; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 29, 2010 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Entombment will be private in the Mausoleum of Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 am until the time of the service at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, 540-254-3000.
