Clarence Franklin Deacon, 83, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earman and Martha Deacon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Everette and Betty, Scott, Kenneth, Bruce, and Carlyle and Bobbie Deacon. Clarence graduated from Buchanan High School and served in the US Army in Germany. He worked in several businesses in Buchanan including, Alpine Restaurant and North 11 Exxon then later retired from AFLAC as an Insurance Agent. He was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church and the VFW. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed corvettes. He is survived by his son, Stephen Deacon of Boones Mill; brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Patsy Deacon of Buchanan; Boyd and Laura Deacon of Roanoke; Bolivar and Darlene Deacon of Troutville; Bernard and Nancy Deacon of Vinton; Pauline Deacon of Buchanan; Mary Jo Deacon of Salem; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Funeral Services will be held 1pm Saturday, February 14, 2015 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt with the Dr. Thomas G. Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
