Clara Belle Ambler Hart

Clara Belle Ambler Hart, 86, departed this life Wednesday morning, April 27, 2011 at her residence in Daleville. Born in Wilson, North Carolina on January 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Richard and Hattie Belle Ambler. Her husband, Robert Seymour Hart, Sr., and brother, James Andrew Ambler, preceded her in death. Mrs. Hart received her BS in Home Economics (1948) and Masters of Science in Guidance and Counseling (1977) from Madison College. She was employed by school systems in Maryland and Virginia, retiring from Fort Defiance High School in 1990. She was active in the VRTA, Presbyterian Women, and a past president of the Chi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. Mrs. Hart was a member of Green Ridge Presbyterian Church in Roanoke. She and her husband, Bob, enjoyed traveling extensively in the United States and Europe. Her memory will be cherished by her seven children, Robert S. Hart, Jr. and wife Sandi of Fincastle; Suzanne Hart Snead and husband Mike of Moneta; Mary Hart Clark of Salem; James Richard Hart and wife Cheryl of Richmond; George "JB" Elliott Hart of Troutville and Teresa Hart of Nace; Paul Stephen Hart of Roanoke; John Thomas Hart of Salem; six grandchildren, Lacy Razor, Brian Snead, Christian Snead, Aaron Snead, Jason Hart , Dustin Hart; two step-grandchildren Michael Burnette and Andrea Wrobel; four great grandchildren, Emily Snead, Gabriel Snead, C.J. Snead, Benjamin Snead; four step-great grandchildren, Michael Burnette, Alexander Burnette, Darious Cheatwood, Devin Cheatwood; two nieces, Kathy Ambler Brown and Ann Ambler Thellen; twograndnieces Heather and Sarah Brown. A memorial service celebrating Mrs. Hart's life will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Green Ridge Presbyterian Church, 7640 Alpine Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019 in Roanoke at 11AM with Dr. Wayne Meredith officiating. The family will receive friends at the reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to spend time with your loved ones in Mrs. Hart's memory. Also, A memorial service celebrating Mrs. Hart's life will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church in Fort Defiance. The Rev. Elizabeth McCrary and Rev. Pattie Sewell will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the reception following the service.
