Charles Melton Botkin

Charles Melton "Charlie" Botkin, 64, of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011. Charlie had worked for James River Limestone and the I-81 Troutville/Buchanan Rest Stop. He was a poor man's Comedian, teller of tale tales, and a fixture at the Buchanan Stop-In. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Connie L. Botkin; sons, Gary Botkin of Tampa, Fla., Richard and Selena Botkin of Covington; daughter, Sara Mundy of Buchanan; grandchildren, Jessica Rupe, Dakota Botkin, Bryanna MacPhail, and Wyatt Alexander; great-grandson, Jacob Graham; and loving sister, Etta Botkin and fiancé, Brian Bland of Covington. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2011 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, Va. with the Rev. Harold E. Cook, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 254-3000
