Charles Edward Bumgarner

Charles Edward Bumgarner, 74, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2013 at his home in Vinton, Virginia. He was born April 6, 1939 in Logan, West Virginia. Charles was a skilled carpenter, devoted husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Gobel and Myrtle Bumgarner; his brothers, Sol, Fred, Willie, and Howard; his sisters, Viola and Irene; his son, Ronald Colegrove and his granddaughter, Michelle. Charles is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joyce Curry Bumgarner; his siblings, Edith Mahone, James Bumgarner (Joann), John Bumgarner (Joyce), Floyd Bumgarner (Verma), Donald Bumgarner (Sharon), and Norman Bumgarner; his children, Marcella Craven (Danny), Haskel Colegrove, Vickie Adkins (Roy), and Kimberly Simpson (Billy). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Crystal Webster (Casey), Charles Adkins (Crystal), Todd White, R. Daniel Adkins II (Katy), Amanda Roemer (Eric), Angela Adkins, Jamie Davidson, Brittany, Edana and Seth Colegrove; and seven great-grandchildren. Extended family include John and Karen Huffman and Dinkie and Betty Giles, along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. A celebration of Charles's life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013, 6 p.m. at Victory Praise Fellowship, 101 Scenic Drive, Vinton, Virginia. (Rt. 24 to Nemmo Rd to Scenic Dr.) 540-890-7512. Pastor Ray Widener will lead the service. The family will receive friends before and after the service from 4-8 p.m.
