Cecil Donald Mountcastle

Cecil Donald Mountcastle, 85, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, a life member of VFW Post 5895 where he served as commander for many years, and a longtime member of American Legion Post 93. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Mountcastle and Annie Mountcastle Rycroft; brother, Harold Mountcastle; and step-father, Ira J. Rycroft. He is survived by wife of 47 years, Betty Lou Farlow Mountcastle; step-son, Brad Upchurch and wife, Dawn; step-daughter, Linda Upchurch; sister-in-law, Helen Mountcastle; favorite cousins, Jimmy and Vicki Eubank; and grand dog, Abby. Funeral Services will be held 12 noon Monday, September 18, 2017 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors. Those wishing to make a contribution, please consider the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department or Fairview Cemetery.
