Carl "Jack" Fowler

Carl "Jack" "XX45" Jackson Fowler, 80, of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moffitt "Buck", Sr. and Edith Fowler, the love of his life, his wife, Daisy Marie Crouch Fowler, brother, Moffitt O. Fowler, Jr., sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn F. and Bill Brown, and special friend, Sydney Tolley. Jack was an Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War, and a member of the VFW. A lifetime member of the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department, he served as Assistant Chief. He was co-owner of Robertson-Fowler Construction Co. for over 69 years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Mike Hedrick of Buchanan; sons, Lynwood "Bull" Fowler and special friend, Kathy Guerra of Buchanan; David "CJ" Fowler and special friend, Teressa Ransone of Vinton; grandchildren, Joshua Fowler Reed, Megan Marie Reed, Carla Olivia Spangler, Michaela Daisy Hedrick, Baleigh SueAnn Hedrick, Jessica Marie Fowler, and Kelsey Giles; special friend, Peggy Giles of Buchanan; sisters, Ellen Marie and Charles M. Alford of Glasgow; Barbara F. and Richard Sarver of Roanoke; Martha F. and Paul W. Monaghan of Daleville; brothers, James A. & Roena Fowler of Buchanan; Charles E. "Bud" and Peggy Fowler of Natural Bridge; Thomas L. and Brenda Fowler of Buchanan; and John M. Fowler of Buchanan; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many special friends. Funeral Services will be held 11am Friday, February 8, 2013 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly Dampeer and Rev. Marina Gopadze officiating. Interment will follow Fairview Cemetery. Those wishing to make a contribution, please consider the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department or the Buchanan Volunteer Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9pm Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan. 540-254-3000
