Billy Barker Marshall

September 5, 1923 — April 22, 2013

Billy Barker "BB" Marshall, 86, of Buchanan, passed away on Earth Day, Monday, April 22, 2013. Born to Frank and Nell Marshall he lived all of his life in Buchanan where he met and married the love of his life, Jackie Camper. They were happily married for almost 50 years until her death in 2001. He was a lifelong member of Mill Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Always smiling, BB was a passionate man who enjoyed raising cattle and farming the land. He was an owner of Marshall Brothers Dairy until his retirement. Following that, he continued to farm his land and cattle with his son, Ben and grandson, Matthew. In his spare time, he was always checking on the cattle, raking hay, mowing yards, driving around in his trucks, nurturing his garden, and finding time for others, including his special friend, Pat Shotwell. Billy spent much of his time with his four children and their families. Almost every Saturday night his home was filled with his children, grandchildren, and friends enjoying a meal together and often celebrating birthdays. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He was especially proud of his four children and their families. He is survived by his three daughters, Cynthia M. Gibson and her husband, Roger, Patricia K. Marshall, and Amy M. Dudley; his son, Benjamin P. Marshall and his wife, Melina; his grandchildren, Lauren Brown and husband, Barry, Jill Gibson and fiance', Eric Austin, Ashleigh Marshall, Jonathan Dudley, Matthew Marshall, Rachel Dudley, and Marybeth Marshall; and his great-grandchildren, Caleb Meador and Grayson Dudley.
