Beverly Drew Sisson

Beverly Drew Sisson, 77, of Fincastle, Virginia, died Tuesday, October 16, at Westminster Health and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Hill, South Carolina. Beverly was a wireman for General Electric, retiring with 40 years of service. He later worked for Hertz Car Rental for 14 years. He was an active, life-long member of Wheatland Lutheran Church, where he served on Church Council, the Property Committee, and served as Church Teller and the Cemetery Treasurer. He also served as custodian and programmer for Botetourt County's mechanical voting machines. Beverly was predeceased by his grandson, Chris Wright, his parents, Minor and Ethel Sisson, and his sister, Joy S. Hardbarger. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alfreda Bolton Sisson, daughters and sons-in-law, Julianne S. Wright (David) of Frisco, TX, and Donna S. (Rick) Richter, of Rock Hill, SC, three grandchildren, Stephanie Wright, John Richter and Will Richter, a great-granddaughter, Hollie Miller, and a brother-in-law and sister-in- law, Benton and Sandra Bolton, a niece, Linda Newcomb, and two nephews, Stephen Bolton and Brian Bolton. Beverly's family expresses appreciation to the caring staff at Friendship Health and Rehabilitation Center (Roanoke, VA), Westminster Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Hospice and Community Care (Rock Hill, SC), and a special thanks to his devoted caregivers, Jessica Ray, Brenda McDaniel and Cugina Bond. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20, at 2 o'clock p.m., at Wheatland Lutheran Church, 1560 Wheatland Road, Buchanan, with the Rev. Cecie Haxton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan.
