Betty Lou "Nanny" Stinnett Peery, 85, of Springwood, left this earthly life for her heavenly home on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Born in Eagle Rock, June 15, 1932 she excelled in school plays and spelling bees. She graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1950 and spent the next 57 years married to the love of her life, Raymond "Dan Dan". She was a lifelong member of Springwood Baptist Church serving in several capacities including, custodian and vacation bible school. She was a renowned cook, spoiling many with her delicious foods, an avid gardener, member of the Fincastle Garden Club, member of the Faithful Rebekah's, and President of the VFW. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Peery; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Jane Peery; and siblings, Minnie, Cackie, Louis, Benny, and Conley. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and those left to cherish her memory are son, Philip (Anne) Peery; daughter, Patricia (Paul, Jr.) Fariss; grandchildren, Christopher (Krista) Peery, Shannon (Brad) Farrar, Michael Peery, Curtis Peery, Mark (Courtney) Peery, and Paul Fariss, III; great-grandchildren, Janey & Gwyneth Farrar, Cooper Peery, Peyton Peery; and sister, Mary Bosserman. Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Springwood Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan 540-254-3000.
