Betty Ann Montgomery May

Betty Ann Montgomery May of Buchanan passed away on April 9, 2017 after a short illness. She was a graduate of Buchanan High School and the Virginia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, Va. and Florida Hospital in Winter Park/Orlando, Fla. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paxton, Sr. and Ella Montgomery and siblings, David, Harry, and Paxton, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth; daughter, Ann; sons, Alan and his wife, Peggy of Lynchburg, Steve of Kissimmee, Fla., and Robert and fiancée, Debbie of Buchanan; siblings, Mary Bryant of Buchanan, Charles Montgomery of Buchanan, Doris and Roddy Doss of Winter Haven, Fla., Margaret and Dr. James Nathe of Waynesboro, Grace and Walter Alexander of Buchanan, Va., Sara and Donald Britt, of Eagle Rock; sisters-in-law, Gwen Montgomery of Eagle Rock, Nancy and Ralph Hickman of Lynchburg; and many grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 13, 2017 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Woody and Rev. Greg Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Buchanan.
