Barbara Patterson Turner

Barbara P. Turner “BT” from Buchanan, faded into the Lord’s arms in the early morning of May 18, 2021. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Jack M. Turner, Mother, Dorothy Lipscomb, Father, Nelson Lipscomb, and Brother Nelson “Butch” Lipscomb. She is survived by her children, daughter and son-in-law Angela and Jay Durham of Fincastle and son James Matthew Turner of Vinton. Grandchildren Michael Harris, Jr. of Natural Bridge, Chelsea Storm Durham of Daleville, Dakota Turner of Vinton, and Jack Durham of Fincastle. Several Nieces and Nephews. We would like to thank the loving selfless nurses at Richfield that became like family, and especially her special volunteer, Cheryn. Also, the wonderful palliative care team at RMH. Barbara was a breast cancer survivor. She spent most of her life caring for other people and being active in church, she loved singing and dancing to Elvis music, and spending time with her grandchildren. We will never forget her sassy and loving personality. A service will be held at Fincastle Baptist Church on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers we ask donations to be made in Barbara Turner’s name to the national Breast Cancer Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
