Barbara "Jeanie" Deisher Hipes

Barbara "Jeanie" Deisher Hipes, 76, of Eagle Rock, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 after a courageous battle with dementia. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Fay and Mary Deisher; and husband of 43 years, Jay Hugh Hipes, Sr. until his death in 2015. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Being faithful to her Lord, she was active in her church throughout her life serving in numerous capacities. She retired from the Botetourt County School System with over 20 years of service. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law; Jay, Jr. and Elizabeth Hipes; Mark and Peyton Hipes; grandchildren, Jay, III "Trey", Charlotte, Esther, and Virginia Hipes. Funeral services will be held 2pm Sunday, June 9, 2019 in the Longdale Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Marsh officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Saturday, June 8, 2019 in the Eagle Rock Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. 540-884-2276.
