Annie Belle Shires Trail Linkenhoker

Annie Belle Shires Trail Linkenhoker, 89, of Buchanan, was called home to Jesus' waiting arms on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Annie epitomized her walk with God in every facet of her life. She was a faithful member of Springwood Baptist Church and avid member of the church choir and gospel group until health problems prevented her from attending. Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend and always a loving angel of God; she was born July 12, 1925 to the late Stafford W. and Garnett Pearl Shires. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Henry Taylor Linkenhoker, brothers, Willie, Jo Dean, Eugene, Bobby C., and Jesse K Shires; sister, Elizabeth Flint; niece, Sherrie Lynn Roberts; nephew, Mike Shires; sisters-in-law, Linda and Miriam Shires; and brother-in-law, Lewis Roberts. She is survived by her four children; Linda Trail Russell and husband, Lawrence of Buchanan; Charles E. Trail and fiancé, Rhonda Price of Roanoke; Garnett L. Trail and special friend, Kathy McNary of Ocala, FL; Billy P. Trail and special friend, Regina Mullins of Buchanan; grandchildren; Damon Young, Danielle Trail, Taylor Nicole Trail, and Amber Dollman; great-grandson, Tyler Trail; sister, Emily Roberts of Daleville; sister-in-law, Judy Vess of Raphine; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends; especially Carolyn Jackson and Lola Kessler. Funeral Services will be held 1pm Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold E. Cook officiating.
